Graphic design.
Much of the work in this portfolio comes from my eight years at the Las Vegas Weekly magazine, where I was responsible for creating the visuals that brought stories to life. This required a diverse skill set—including graphic design, typography, photo direction, photo manipulation, hand-drawn and vector illustration, and more recently, generative AI.

The cover is the most crucial part of the magazine—it’s the first impression. We followed the ‘three-second rule,’ meaning the design had to grab a viewer’s attention within three seconds to increase the likelihood of them picking it up. Below are a few examples of covers I’ve designed, showcasing my skills in graphic design, typography, and visual communication.

Designing the magazine didn’t stop at the cover—the interior needed strong visuals as well. When stories couldn’t be photographed for various reasons, I stepped in with creative, conceptual artwork to bring those editorials to life. Here are a few examples.
