The Las Vegas Weekly magazine is a city publication that prints 60,000 copies a week for Southern Nevada. I had the opportunity to work on stories that helped shape and reflect the city’s constantly evolving narrative, spanning business, local and national politics, culture, entertainment, music, and sports. The role gave me the creative freedom to explore a wide range of visual approaches, allowing my work to shift in style and medium to best serve each story and its tone.

I am a multi disciplined designer who adapts easily to different artistic styles and creative needs. I bring extensive experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, most notably Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, which are my primary tools. In addition to design, I am also an illustrator and painter. I create work both traditionally and digitally, with much of my illustration work produced in Procreate on the iPad.

Below are a few of my favorite pieces from my time at Las Vegas Weekly, along with selected freelance and personal projects. I hope you enjoy exploring them as much as I enjoyed creating them.

I was frequently entrusted with designing the magazine covers, which are ultimately the first impression and the deciding factor in whether someone picks up an issue. Each cover needed to capture attention instantly while setting the tone for the story inside. The selections below are a few of my favorites and showcase the breadth of my skills, ranging from art direction and illustration to photo manipulation, painting, and even handmade clay sculptures.

COVERS

The magazine also needed to be thoughtfully filled, and I focused on creating layouts that felt intuitive and inviting. I often manipulated the images on these spreads to enhance the source material. My goal was to guide readers through each page with a natural flow, pairing strong typography with visually compelling imagery and design that enhanced the story rather than distracted from it.

Lastly, I have spent my entire life dedicated to the craft. Some of these works are deeply personal and were never intended to be marketed or sold. They have been exhibited over the years in both solo and group shows. Created with traditional media, these pieces are most often painted in oil and reflect a more intimate side of my practice.
