At the Las Vegas Magazine, I worked across stories that shaped the city's narrative, from business, emerging technologies, local and national politics, culture, entertainment and development. My process started with reading each piece and collaborating with the writers to determine what visuals would best serve the story. From there, I'd concept and execute the imagery, whether that meant creating original illustrations and graphics in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate. I would then design the layouts on InDesign. When stories called for photography, I would find the necessary sources to retrieve them or I'd art direct the shoots and handle post-production (after the photographer’s initial edits) retouching, compositing, and manipulating images to match the editorial vision. Every issue required balancing multiple projects, tight deadlines, and the constant challenge of making diverse subject matter visually compelling.
