VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS

As Senior Designer at Las Vegas Weekly, I designed across digital, social, print, and editorial platforms for a city in the middle of a professional sports boom. I was there for the inaugural seasons of the Vegas Golden Knights, Aces, Raiders, and the arrival of Formula 1, contributing to coverage that spanned T-Mobile Arena, Allegiant Stadium, and the Las Vegas Strip circuit.

I collaborated with writers, editors, the publisher, photographers, and marketing to develop visual storytelling across illustration, layout, photography, and post-production. Every issue meant managing multiple projects under tight deadlines and consistently delivering work that met a high editorial standard.

A few favorites from my time there:

This is a package I created during the Vegas Golden Knights inaugural season. I hand-drew the cover, edited staff and Associated Press photos on photoshop and laid the pages out on InDesign. This was an incredible and exciting year for sports in Las Vegas.

Here is another fun and different story on Vegas Golden Knights. This one focused on the business side and behind the scenes of a game. We worked with VGK to allow a photographer to tour the premises, as well as, having some shoot time with Chance for the cover.

A few VGK sports update spreads. We would do these regularly during the season. It was my job to create compelling page design and exciting photo illustrations with provided photos.

Above were a few of my favorite of the countless Vegas Golden Knights’ related material I created for the magazine. Below are more sports related work. These were all created through various means, mostly Photoshop, Indesign and Procreate. A few required shoot directions, public relation communications and efficient time management.
